About Echo FC
Echo FC is football cut down to the part people actually replay: short matches, a small pitch, and a team where every player has a name and a job. You switch between them, you tackle, you pass and you shoot, and a two-minute match is a complete game rather than a demo of one.
Eight clubs are on offer, from the Hyderabad Falcons and Mumbai Mariners to Madrid Sol, Tokyo Wave and Cape Comets, and six pitches that genuinely play differently — the Indoor Court is not the Coastal Park with a different backdrop.
The career and the cup
Echo Academy is where you learn the echo: record a run, rewind, then play alongside your own movement and finish the move you started. It is the one mechanic that separates people who enjoy this from people who do not. The career runs from there, and the Cup is a knockout for when you want a tournament rather than a season.
Your squad
Arjun Rao in defence, Kabir Shah and Dev Reddy on the wings, Rohan Sen up front and Vikram Das in goal, each with pace and shooting ratings that are honest about what they are for. Playing Rohan Sen like a winger does not work, and the game does not pretend otherwise.
Controls
Arrow keys or WASD to move, the mouse to aim, E or a click to pass, hold and release Space to shoot, Shift to sprint, Q to switch player and F to tackle. Match length is yours — two, four or six minutes.
How to play Echo FC
- Open Matchday and pick your club, your opponent, the pitch and a match length of two, four or six minutes. It is a full 5-a-side game: four outfield players and a goalkeeper on each team.
- Every match, and every restart after a goal, kicks off from the centre spot. Move with WASD or the arrow keys and aim with the mouse.
- Press E or click to pass towards a teammate or into space. When a teammate receives the ball, you take control of them automatically.
- Hold Space to wind up a shot and release it to strike. Shift sprints for as long as your stamina lasts.
- Without the ball, press F to tackle an opponent close to you, and Q to switch to whichever teammate is most useful.
- At half-time the teams change ends, so in the second half you attack the bottom goal. The referee gives corners, goal kicks and throw-ins, and there is no offside.
Echo FC tips and strategy
- Find space before you wind up. Your player slows down noticeably while you hold Space for a shot. Start the wind-up once you are clear of a defender, not while you are still trying to get past one.
- Let the pass do the switching. Control follows the ball to whoever receives it, so a quick pass is often a faster way to change player than pressing Q.
- Spend your sprint wisely. Shift only works while stamina lasts. Save it for a run in behind or for getting back after losing the ball, rather than holding it down all match.
- Use the lack of offside. These are small-sided games with no offside, so leaving your striker high up the pitch for a long pass is a real tactic.
- Choose the pitch for your style. On the polished maple of the Indoor Court the ball runs much faster than on grass, while the Coastal Park and the Forest Grove slow it down. Short passing suits the slower pitches; quick breaks suit the indoor floor.
- Know your Falcons. In the Hyderabad Falcons squad, Kabir Shah is the quickest player, Rohan Sen is by far the best finisher and Arjun Rao is the strongest tackler. Get the ball to Rohan Sen in front of goal rather than shooting from wide with anyone else.
- Every goal counts in the career. A career win is worth 100 XP, a draw 50 and a defeat 25, and every goal you score adds another 10. Pushing for one more goal is worthwhile even when the match is lost.
Echo Academy, the league and the cup
Echo Academy is where the name comes from. You record a run, save it with R as an echo, then start again and play alongside your own recorded movement, receiving the pass you made a moment ago. Its six challenges build up from simply beating the keeper to scoring after all three teammates have touched the ball, then beating two defenders, before Free play gives you two echo slots to build your own move. T retries a take and X clears your echoes.
The solo career is a league of seven fixtures a season, with the other clubs' results simulated. Finish in the top two to be promoted from Bronze to Silver and then Gold, and expect quicker opponents each time you go up. There is no mid-match save, so finish the game you start. The cup is a separate knockout of eight clubs through quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final, and drawn ties go to golden-goal extra time.

Echo FC — frequently asked questions
Is Echo FC free?
Yes, free in the browser with no download and no sign-up. Your career and cup progress save in the browser you play in.
How long is a match?
Two, four or six minutes, set before kick-off. Two minutes is a genuine match rather than a shortened one.
How many clubs and pitches?
Eight clubs and six pitches. The pitches change how the ball behaves, so they are a real choice and not a backdrop.
What is Echo Academy?
The training mode, built around echoes: you record a run, save it with R, then play alongside that recording and receive your own pass.
Is there online play?
Not on this site. Matchday, the career and the cup against computer opposition are the complete game here.
Does it work on a phone?
It runs, but switching, tackling and shooting together is considerably easier on a keyboard.
What is an echo?
In Echo Academy you can record a run and save it with R. When you start the move again, that recorded version of you plays alongside you as a teammate, so you can receive your own pass and finish it.
How does promotion work in the career?
Each season has seven league fixtures. Finishing in the top two promotes you from Bronze to Silver, then from Silver to Gold, and opponents get quicker as you rise.
What happens if a cup tie is drawn?
Drawn cup ties go to golden-goal extra time, so the next goal wins it.
