About Timefold Echo Run
Timefold Echo Run is a turn-based puzzle about being in two places at once. You move one square at a time across a grid, and every move you make is written down. When you end the loop, that recording stands up and walks the route again on its own — as an echo, a translucent copy of the person you were a moment ago — while you start over from the entrance. Ending a second loop leaves two echoes on the board. By the fifth chapter you are conducting a small crowd of yourself.
The reason to do this is that most doors here need more hands than one person has. A switch only stays down while somebody is standing on it, and a gate only stays open while every switch is held. You cannot hold a switch and walk through the gate it opens, so you hold it on one loop, and walk through it on the next, and the version of you that stayed behind is the one that lets you past. Every puzzle in the game is a variation on that single idea.
There are twenty-five memories arranged into seven chapters, and they escalate carefully. The first three teach movement, recording and a single switch. Split Timeline adds a second switch and a second echo. Echo Engine asks for three at once. By Beyond Time the board is a machine you have to schedule rather than a maze you have to solve, and the last chapter, The Long Return, expects you to plan a route before you take the first step.
Each level gives you a fixed number of moments — turns — before the loop closes by itself, so waiting is a real decision with a real cost. Space passes a moment on purpose, which is often exactly what you need: an echo three squares behind you has to catch up before the gate ahead will open. Stars are awarded for finishing in as few loops as possible, and the target is printed beside the board so you always know what you are aiming at. Your best loop count is kept on every level card, which is the number worth beating on a second visit.
It is small, quiet and completely free. It runs in the browser on a phone or a computer with no download and no account, it saves your stars and your unlocked levels on the device you play on, and every level has a written hint sitting one button away for the moment a puzzle stops making sense.
How to play Timefold Echo Run
Choose Enter the timeline, then pick the first memory — later ones unlock as you finish them.
Move with the arrow keys, WASD or the on-screen pad. Space waits a moment.
Walk onto a purple switch, then press End loop. Your route becomes an echo that repeats it.
While the echo holds the switch, cross the pink gate it opens, collect every cyan shard and step into the green portal.
Finish in as few loops as possible — three stars are awarded for hitting the target shown beside the board.

Timefold Echo Run — frequently asked questions
Is Timefold Echo Run free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with no download and no account. Your stars, best loop counts and unlocked levels save in the browser you play in.
How many levels does Timefold Echo Run have?
Twenty-five, grouped into seven chapters — The First Second, Split Timeline, Echo Engine, Beyond Time, Afterimage, Chrono Garden and The Long Return. Each level has its own move limit, from fourteen moments on the first to well over twenty at the end.
What is an echo?
An echo is a recording of a loop you already played. When you press End loop, everything you just did is replayed by a translucent copy of you while you start again from the entrance. Echoes can stand on switches, which is the only way to open gates you also need to walk through.
How do I get three stars?
Finish the level within the loop target printed beside the board — normally one loop for each switch on the map, plus the loop you finish on. One loop over the target earns two stars, anything slower earns one.
Can you play Timefold Echo Run on a phone?
Yes. On a touchscreen the game shows a five-way pad with a wait button in the middle, and End loop and Undo sit beside it.
Is there a hint if I get stuck?
Yes. Every one of the twenty-five levels has a written hint, on the Show hint button above the board or the H key.
