About Ridge Riders
Ridge Riders is a racing game that never quite decided to be only one thing, and is better for it. Twenty circuits, each laid out and dressed differently rather than recoloured. Two separate machines with their own handling — a motocross bike that pitches and lands, and a go-kart that grips until suddenly it doesn't. And a weapon on the handlebars for when the clean line is not working.
The racing itself is the honest part. Drift by holding Shift into a corner, boost down the straight, and watch the pack ahead of you for the moment somebody runs wide. Six riders on track, live positions down the side, and a contact model that shoves rather than teleports — crowded first corners resolve into a pack instead of a pile-up.
Four ways to race
A free race is three laps against the bots, no strings. The career is the long game: five-lap Hard and ten-lap Endurance ladders, with podium finishes unlocking the next circuits and stars that stay earned. Battle races turn the pickups on — rockets, blaster ammunition, shields and boost scattered around the track, and a rocket that slows its target for two and a half seconds, which is exactly long enough to matter. And multiplayer rooms hold two to six real people on the same circuit.
Everything you earn is saved to your account rather than to the browser, so a career picks up on whatever machine you sit down at. Circuit-specific rankings record who was quickest where. There are four cameras — behind the rider, trackside, overhead and a free park view — and a spectator mode if you would rather watch the pack than join it.
How to play Ridge Riders
Pick bikes or karts, then choose a circuit from the twenty available.
Accelerate with W, steer with A and D, brake with S. Hold Shift while steering to drift.
Space is boost. Drive over pickups to collect rockets, blaster ammunition and shields, then use E, F and Q.
Free race for three laps against bots, or take the career for five-lap and ten-lap championships with unlocks.
Multiplayer rooms put two to six real players on the same track. C changes the camera at any time.

Ridge Riders — frequently asked questions
Is Ridge Riders free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with no download and no payment. Career progress, stars and rankings are saved to your account so they follow you between devices.
How many tracks are there?
Twenty, each individually designed with its own layout and scenery rather than being one track reskinned.
What is the difference between bikes and karts?
They are two separate games with different handling. The motocross bike pitches over jumps and lands; the kart holds grip until it breaks away. The circuits are shared, the feel is not.
What are battle races?
Races with the pickups switched on — rockets, blaster ammunition, shields and boost collected off the track. A rocket slows whoever it hits for about two and a half seconds.
Can I play against other people?
Yes. Multiplayer rooms hold two to six human players on the same circuit, and each circuit keeps its own rankings.
How does the career work?
Two ladders — five-lap Hard and ten-lap Endurance. Podium finishes unlock further circuits and earn stars that stay on your account.
Does it work on a phone?
Not really. There are no on-screen controls, so it needs a keyboard. A laptop or desktop is the way to play it.
Does my progress save?
Yes, to your account rather than to the browser — so a career started on one machine continues on another. Free races are not recorded.
