A walled arena where the wall is the weapon. The shot that misses can still find you on the way back, so the good players are the ones counting bounces.

Tank Arena drops you into a walled maze with a roster of enemy tanks and a zone that starts collapsing before you have finished clearing them. The hull and the turret turn separately, which is the whole skill of the game: you can reverse out of a corridor while keeping your gun on the tank chasing you, and learning to think about those two directions at once is what turns a bad run into a clean one.
Shells bounce once off a wall, so the maze is a weapon rather than just cover — a shot banked around a corner reaches a Marksman that has line of sight on you and nothing else does. Each level adds a bigger arena, more enemies, tougher variants and a faster collapse, and the enemy mix shifts from plain Grunts to Hunters, Marksmen and heavily armoured Bulwarks as you climb.
How to play Tank Arena
By default, WASD or the arrow keys drive the way you press and the hull turns itself; switch the Steering button on the menu to tank mode if you prefer A and D to rotate the hull while W and S drive it. The turret is aimed separately with the mouse, and that separation is the whole skill of the game — you can reverse down a corridor while keeping your gun trained on whatever is following you. Learning to think about those two directions at once is what turns a panicked run into a controlled one.
Click or press Space to fire. Shells bounce once off a wall, which makes the maze a weapon rather than just cover: a shot banked around a corner reaches a Marksman that has line of sight on you and nothing else does. Shift boosts, drains, and recharges. The zone starts collapsing on a timer shown at the top of the screen, so clearing the arena is a race, not a leisurely sweep.
How to play Tank Arena
- On the main menu, check the steering button before anything else. The default, Steering: direct, means the key you press is the direction you travel on screen and the hull turns itself the short way round. Click it to switch to Steering: tank if you prefer rotating with A and D and driving where the nose points.
- Press ▶ Campaign and choose a level. The thirty levels are split into three chapters, Scrapyard, Dust Basin and The Foundry, and every tenth level is a boss fight marked with a skull.
- Drive with WASD or the arrow keys, aim with the mouse and fire with a click or Space. Hold Shift for a burst of speed while the boost lasts.
- Keep an eye out for repair pickups. A destroyed enemy sometimes leaves one behind, and driving over it restores 30 hull. It disappears after about 26 seconds.
- Destroy every enemy before the collapsing zone traps you. When three or fewer remain, the game counts them down for you on screen.
- The results screen shows the stars you earned, enemies destroyed, your accuracy and XP. Press Next level → after a win or Retry level after a loss, and replay any unlocked level from the Campaign screen.
Tank Arena tips and strategy
- Your own ricochets cannot hurt you. Shells never damage the tank that fired them, so bank shots off nearby walls as freely as you like.
- Count your hits. Your shells deal 22 damage. At level one a Grunt, Hunter or Marksman goes down to three, while a Bulwark needs seven. Enemy armour grows a little with every level, so those numbers creep up as you climb.
- Kill Hunters early. They are the fastest enemy, nearly as quick as you, and they fire more often than any other type. Leave them alone and they catch you while you line up a Marksman.
- Save boost for when it counts. Boost adds about 60% to your speed and only drains while you are moving. A full charge lasts a couple of seconds and takes around four and a half to refill. Save it for open ground or a dash to the zone.
- Know the zone clock. On level one you have around 21 seconds before the collapse starts. That window shrinks by just over a second per level, down to a floor of eight seconds, and outside the circle your hull drains steadily.
- Thin the escort on boss levels. A boss level has fewer enemies but one massively armoured Bulwark that spawns as far from you as possible. Clear the escort first, then deal with the boss using walls and bounces.
- Protect your armour for three stars. Stars reward the hull you finish with, not just the clear: 60% or more earns three, 25% or more earns two and anything less earns one.
Arena modes
The ⚔ Arena button opens four battles fought on a larger map, none of them tied to campaign progress. Last tank standing puts you among ten other tanks in a free-for-all where every tank is hostile and the zone is lethal. Team battle is five against five, and since shells damage any tank except the one that fired them, careless shots through your own allies cost your side. Survival waves sends wave after wave, each harder than the last, and your score is how many you clear.
King of the hill is the one that plays most differently. A marked circle sits in the middle of the map and you only score while you hold it alone; if an enemy is inside with you, the clock stops for both sides. The first to 45 seconds of sole possession wins. Each Arena card shows your personal best, measured in kills, waves cleared or seconds held depending on the mode.

Tank Arena — frequently asked questions
How do the bouncing shells work in Tank Arena?
Every shell reflects once off a wall before it expires. Angling a shot into a wall lets you hit a tank behind cover, and it means an enemy shell that misses can still come back and hit you.
What are the different enemy tanks?
Grunts are slow and weak, Hunters are fast and fragile, Marksmen outrange you badly and hit hard, and Bulwarks are heavily armoured but slow to turn. From level five the mix includes all four.
What is the collapsing zone?
A red boundary that shrinks after a delay shown in the HUD. Standing outside it drains your hull, so the arena gets smaller as the level goes on and forces the fight to a conclusion.
Can you play Tank Arena on mobile?
Not well. It needs independent hull and turret control, which means a keyboard and mouse. It is the one game on the site that is genuinely desktop-only.
What is the difference between direct and tank steering?
Direct steering, the default, moves you in the direction of the key you press and turns the hull for you. Tank steering makes A and D rotate the hull and W and S drive it forward and back. Switch between them with the Steering button on the main menu.
How are stars awarded in the campaign?
Stars depend on the hull you have left when the last enemy falls. Finish with 60% or more for three stars, 25% or more for two, and anything lower for one.
Can I repair my tank during a level?
Yes. Destroyed enemies sometimes drop a repair pickup that restores 30 hull when you drive over it. It only stays on the map for about 26 seconds.
