About Drop Zone
Drop Zone is a top-down 3D battle royale in the spirit of PUBG: 80 fighters parachute onto a big open map, the safe zone shrinks in eight phases, and anyone caught outside it takes damage that climbs until the last circle closes completely. There are ten maps — Dust Town (desert, canyon, rail yard), Pine Valley (forest, lake, quarry), Frostpeak (snow, frozen lake, radar base), Harbor Island (docks, container yard, lighthouse), Savanna Plains (golden grass, watering holes), Ash Ridge (volcanic rock and lava pools that burn), Blackwater Marsh (ponds, stilt shanties, thick woods), Red Mesa (red canyons and a mining town), Glacier Bay (a snow island in an icy sea) and Concrete City (tower blocks and container yards) — each a 680-metre square with seventeen named districts joined by roads, so no two matches look the same.
Before the drop you tap a spot on the map. Towns and the military camp hold the best loot and the most company; the wilds are quieter. You land with a pistol; crates around buildings hold SMGs, shotguns, assault rifles and sniper rifles, plus medkits, armor vests and grenades. Every fighter carries three weapon slots, and the kill feed, minimap and a live kill-leader board keep you informed of where the action is.
Press Play Online and you join a live match on the DevAI Games servers: the room, map and seat are picked for you, and every real player who drops in replaces one of the AI fighters, so a quiet hour is still an 80-fighter match and a busy one is all people. The match itself runs on the server — every fighter, bullet, loot drop and the circle — so everyone sees the same fight. Practice Match is the same game offline, with your choice of map, fighter count and difficulty.
The AI fighters have their own skill and temperament: they loot first, rotate into the next circle, take cover, burst-fire and retreat to heal. Play solo, in squads of four where the last squad standing wins, or Squad Deathmatch: a fixed arena, respawns five seconds after you go down, and the first squad to 25 kills (or the most kills after six minutes) takes it. The kill-leader board and the top-squads board update live during the match; win and the winner gets a crown, fireworks and confetti, and the standings rank every fighter and every squad by kills.
Your record — matches, wins, kills and best finish — saves in the browser you play in. Keyboard and mouse on desktop; twin-stick touch controls on phones.
How to play Drop Zone
Move with WASD or the arrows, aim with the mouse and click to shoot. Hold Space or the right mouse button to aim down sight — the camera pulls back so you can see further, which matters with a rifle or sniper.
Walk over loot to pick it up. R reloads, Q, the mouse wheel or 1 / 2 / 3 switch between your three weapons (each keeps its own ammo), F swaps your current weapon for the one on the ground, H uses a medkit (three seconds — you stand still, but being shot no longer interrupts it), G throws a grenade towards the cursor.
Watch the zone timer at the top and the white circle on the minimap: that is where the next safe zone will be. Get inside before the blue circle catches up with you — the damage outside grows every phase.
M opens the full map. P pauses. On a phone the left stick moves, the right stick aims and fires when pushed out, and the buttons cover medkit, grenade, swap and map.

Drop Zone — frequently asked questions
Is Drop Zone free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with no download and no sign-up. Your matches, wins and kills save in the browser you play in.
How many players are in a match?
Up to 80 fighters on the map. Online, every real player who joins replaces one AI fighter, so the more people playing the fewer AI fighters there are. Offline you can pick 24, 50 or 80 fighters.
Is it real multiplayer?
Yes. Play Online puts you in a live room with other people; the match runs on the server and late joiners parachute into the match that is under way (or watch and get the next one if it is nearly over).
Is there a squad mode?
Yes. Choose Squads of 4 in the menu: three team-mates drop with you, follow you, and the last squad standing wins. The top-squads board ranks every team by kills.
Can I respawn?
In Squad Deathmatch, yes: you are back in the fight five seconds after going down, weapons kept. The first squad to 25 kills wins, or the squad with the most kills when the six-minute clock runs out. In the battle royale modes there is no respawn — when you are out, you spectate your squad or the rest of the match.
How does the zone work?
The safe zone shrinks in eight phases. The white circle shows where the next zone will be; being outside the blue circle costs health every second, more each phase, until the last circle closes.
What weapons are there?
Pistol, SMG, shotgun, assault rifle and sniper rifle, plus grenades. Medkits restore health and armor vests soak up damage.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Twin-stick touch controls: left stick moves, right stick aims and fires. It is a 3D game with 80 fighters, so a recent phone helps.
