About Peloton
Peloton is a road-cycling racing game played from the side of the road. Eight stickman riders, four stages, and one set of legs you have to make last. Hold up to push, hold down to ease off, tap space to sprint. The riders do not have a speed stat; they have power, and the road has wind, rolling resistance and gravity, so how fast you go depends on where you are and who is in front of you.
Drafting is the heart of it. Sit one to six metres behind another rider and the wind does a third of your work; lead the group and you pay for everyone. Your legs — the green bar — drain when you push and refill when you cruise in a wheel. Empty them and you crawl until they come back. The finish is decided by who arrives with something left and sprints at the right moment.
The seven AI riders have jobs. Sprinters sit in and save everything for the last 270 metres. Climbers go when the road tilts up. Attackers jump away early and usually pay for it. Rouleurs ride steady. On the flat coastal stage a sprinter is the favourite; on the mountain finish the climbers are; on the time trial there is no drafting at all and it is just you against the clock.
The tour is four stages with 12·10·8·6·5·4·3·2 points per finish; the most points wears the jersey. Quick stages and a daily stage — the same course for everyone, one attempt — are there for shorter sessions. Three difficulties change how strong the field is. The balance was checked by simulation: a rider who just mashes the push button finishes near the back, a rider who sits in finishes mid-pack, and a rider who sits in and sprints at 280 metres wins about half the time on Normal.
How to play Peloton
Hold ↑ or W to push, hold ↓ or S to ease and recover, hold nothing to cruise. Space is a sprint.
Stay one to six metres behind another rider. The DRAFT tag shows when you are in the wheel.
Keep the green bar above a third until the finale. Sprint at about 300 metres to go, not sooner.
Finish four stages for the tour; most points wins the jersey.

Peloton — frequently asked questions
Is Peloton free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with no download and no sign-up. Tour wins, stage wins and badges save in the browser you play in.
How does drafting work?
Sit one to six metres behind another rider and your air resistance drops by about a third. The DRAFT tag on screen shows when you are in the wheel. There is no drafting in the time trial.
What is the green bar?
Your legs — energy. Pushing and sprinting drain it, cruising refills it. At zero you bonk and can barely pedal until it recovers.
How long is a stage?
Two to four minutes. The simulation runs a little faster than real time so a 2–3 km stage does not take a quarter of an hour.
How are tour points scored?
12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 points for the first eight places on each stage. Most points after four stages wins the tour.
Are the AI riders different?
Yes. Sprinters save everything for the last 270 m, climbers attack on hills, attackers go early, rouleurs ride steady. Difficulty scales their power.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Ease, push and sprint buttons sit under the road.
