About Super Over Cricket

Super Over is a cricket game about one thing: the instant the ball arrives. The bowler runs in, the ball pitches, and somewhere in the next fraction of a second there is a perfect moment to swing. Hit it and the ball goes exactly where you meant it to. Miss it by a hair and you get a thin edge to the keeper. Miss it entirely, on a ball heading for the stumps, and you are bowled.

Timing alone is not enough, because you also have to pick a direction. A ball at your pads wants to go to leg, one on the stumps wants to go straight, a wide one wants the off side. Play across the line and even perfect timing turns into a leading edge. On top of that, before every over you are told where the gap in the field is — boundaries come easiest through the gap, and a well-timed shot into the packed side gets cut off by a sweeper who runs it down.

The loft is the game's central gamble. Switched on, a perfect connection is six every time. A good one is four or six. Anything less hangs in the air, and the deep fielders are waiting. Ground shots will not clear the rope but they will not get you caught either, which makes every ball a decision about how much you actually need.

The career runs to a hundred fixtures across ten chapters, each against a named side, unlocking one at a time. Formats grow from a single over to five, and the opposition gets steadily better at reading you — the later sides pick your line more often, hit through the gap more reliably, and the bowling turns nastier, with more yorkers, slower balls and cutters mixed in. Winning lifts a rating that carries you from Gully Rookie to World Beater; losing costs you some of it.

You bowl as well. Choose the delivery and the line, then stop a moving accuracy meter — a sloppy release means loose balls and the occasional wide, a good one cramps the batter. The sides you face read repetition, so bowling the same ball twice in a row means they are waiting for it. Mix it up.

Away from the career there is a knockout tournament for cups, a Super Over against the clock, a chase against a bot's two overs, a pass-and-play duel for two people on one phone, and a daily over that is the same six balls for every player in the world, once a day.

How to play Super Over Cricket

Press Level 1, or open the full career grid, and pick a fixture.

Watch the ball out of the hand and note the delivery name at the top of the screen.

When the ball reaches the crease, press the direction that matches its line — left for leg, up for straight, right for off.

Toggle Loft on when you need a boundary and can afford the risk of being caught.

When it is your turn to bowl, pick a delivery and a line, press Bowl, then press again to lock the accuracy meter.

Super Over Cricket — frequently asked questions

What kind of cricket game is this?

A batting and bowling game built around timing rather than a full simulation. You face one ball at a time: watch it out of the hand, pick the direction that matches its line, and swing at the right instant. There are no menus of statistics and no team management — it is the part of cricket that happens in the half-second before contact.

Is Super Over free?

Yes. It runs in the browser with no download and no sign-up. Your career, rating, cups and badges save in the browser you play in.

How many levels are there?

A hundred fixtures across ten chapters, each against a named side. Beat one to unlock the next. Levels 1–40 are single overs, 41–80 are two overs, and 81–100 are five-over matches with five wickets.

How does the timing work?

Every delivery has a perfect contact moment. Within about three frames of it you middle the ball; a little outside that and you get good or scrappy contact; well outside it and you miss altogether, which on a ball hitting the stumps means you are bowled. A ring around the crease shows the window, and it turns green when you are inside it.

Why did I get out playing a good shot?

Almost always the line rather than the timing. Playing across the line costs you two grades of contact, so a perfectly timed shot in the wrong direction can still be an edge. The other common cause is lofting on anything less than a clean connection — that is a catch waiting to happen.

Can I bowl as well as bat?

Yes, in every career fixture and tournament match. You pick the delivery and the line and then lock an accuracy meter. The sides you face read repetition, so varying your bowling matters as much as hitting your areas.

Can two people play?

Yes. The 1v1 Duel is pass-and-play on one device: each player bats an over and the higher score wins. No account and no second device needed.

What is the daily over?

The same six balls for every player in the world, generated from the date, with one attempt. A new over arrives at midnight.

Can you play Super Over on a phone?

Yes. The pitch is drawn in portrait and the shot buttons are sized for thumbs, so it plays the way it looks — one hand, one screen.
