About Draw & Guess
Draw & Guess is the drawing party game for people who are already in the same room. One person draws on the shared screen, everyone else shouts guesses, and the moment somebody lands it you tap their name and type the word — so the point goes to the person who actually got it rather than to the room in general. No lobby, no room code, no waiting for a stranger to finish their turn.
Each player draws once per round, and you set how many rounds and how long each turn lasts — seventy seconds by default. The word comes from one of five packs: everyday things, animals, food and drink, actions and verbs, or a deliberately tricky set. You can also supply your own list, which is where the game gets funny, because inside jokes are the best possible word pack.
Scoring works the way it does in the online versions of this game. Guessing sooner is worth more than guessing late, and being first is worth more than being fourth, so a turn is still worth playing after somebody else has already got it — the turn runs until everyone has the word or the clock stops. The person drawing earns for each player who lands it, which means their job is to be understood by as many people as possible rather than to be clever. And the drawer cannot claim a guess at all: their name is simply not in the row you tap, and the word sits on screen as blanks unless they hold the peek button.
There is a hint button that reveals one letter at a time for when a drawing has gone badly wrong, and a give-up button for when it has gone beyond saving. Scores are kept per round and shown at the end.
How to play Draw & Guess
Add everyone playing, set the seconds per turn and the number of rounds, and pick a word pack.
Hand the device to whoever is drawing. They pick one of three words while everyone else looks away; after that the word shows as blanks, and they hold the peek button if they need reminding.
Draw with the mouse, trackpad or a finger. Everyone else shouts.
When somebody gets it, tap their name — or press their number — and type the word. They score, and the turn keeps going so the rest of the room can still get it.
The turn ends when everyone has the word, the clock runs out, or the drawer gives up. Highest total after the last round wins.

Draw & Guess — frequently asked questions
Can I play this with friends who are somewhere else?
Yes, but with the other version. Draw & Guess Live is the same game in a room you join from your own device, with the drawing relayed to everyone as it happens. This version is the one-screen one, built for a group in the same place passing a single device around.
Can the person drawing guess their own word?
No. A guess has to be claimed by whoever made it, and the drawer's name is not in the row of names you tap — so there is no way for them to award themselves or the room a point. The word is also shown as blanks rather than sitting on screen, and the drawer holds a button to peek at it.
Do I need an account?
No, and there is nothing to install. Nothing you draw is uploaded anywhere — the canvas exists only in your browser and is gone when the turn ends.
Can I use my own words?
Yes. Choose 'My own words' as the pack and type in your own list. This is the best feature in the game and the one most people never find.
What are the word packs?
Five built-in sets: everyday things, animals, food and drink, actions and verbs, and a tricky pack of harder words. Plus your own custom list.
Does drawing work on a touchscreen?
Yes — it uses pointer input, so a finger or stylus works the same as a mouse. A tablet is a much better surface for this than a phone.
How is it scored?
Each guesser scores on their own. The points are highest early in the turn and drop as the clock runs down, and being first is worth more than being second, so the whole room still has a reason to keep guessing after somebody else has got it. The person drawing earns a fixed amount for every player who lands the word. A turn nobody gets scores nothing for anyone, and giving up scores nothing either.
