About Skybound — Wingsuit Frontier
Skybound is a wingsuit flying game that runs in your browser, in 3D, over seven open worlds: the turquoise lagoons and palm islands of Maldives Drift, the peaks and snowlines of Alpine Rush, the red rock of Redrock Run, the forested ridges of Emerald Valley, the sheer granite inlets of Fjordlands, the cinder cones of Ember Isles, and the sand seas of Amber Dunes. Every flight starts the same way — aboard a transport aircraft, choosing your moment, and then a jump into a hundred pilots' worth of sky.
The suit is the point. Arm wings run from wrist to hip, a leg wing spans the ankles, and the membranes are inflated ram-air cells that fold when you press F and open again when you want to glide. Speed is honest: the wind streaks, the widening field of view, the camera shake and the rush of the ground below all come from how fast you are actually moving, not from which key you are holding, so a dive feels like a dive and a stall feels like a stall. Contrails peel off the wingtips in a hard turn.
Four modes share the sky. Free Roam has no route and no timer — fly, land, explore, stay as long as you like. Battle Royale drops a hundred pilots into a shrinking safe zone and the last one flying wins. Expedition sends you across the world from outpost to outpost, finding supplies and nursing your suit's integrity. And Gate Run is the arcade mode: twenty-four rings down a course, forty seconds to start, every ring buying more time depending on how cleanly you thread it, a combo that climbs to eight times for tight passes and resets on a miss, and the clock you have left banked as score when you cross the last ring.
Quick play starts at once with AI pilots filling the sky, so there is never a wait. Online matches put real players in the same room, bots take the empty seats, and only those matches earn coins for the Hangar and count on the global rankings. Your rank and coins live on the flight service; quick play is offline and keeps nothing, which is why it is always available.
The terrain is shaded by slope as well as height — a cliff face and a meadow at the same altitude look different — and the sky is a dome with a sun that matches the light on the ground, drifting cloud and haze at the horizon. It is a demanding 3D page: a laptop or desktop with a keyboard and mouse is the way to play it.
How to play Skybound
Pick a mode and a world and press Play now. Aboard the aircraft, choose your moment and press J to jump — or wait, and the game jumps for you. Then fly: the mouse steers, W and S pitch you down and up, A and D turn, Shift boosts, F folds your wings to drop fast, and V changes the camera.
In Gate Run, aim for the middle of every ring. A clean pass buys 3.2 seconds, a tight one 4.2, dead centre 5.2, and tight passes stack a combo that multiplies every score. Miss a ring and the combo resets, so a slower clean line usually beats a fast scruffy one. Finish the course with time on the clock and it is banked as points.
In Battle Royale, stay inside the safe zone as it shrinks and use Space to shoot; in Expedition, M opens the travel map, E finds supplies at outposts and H heals. Free Roam has no goal at all — land on a peak, drop off it, and find your own adventure.

Skybound rankings
The game keeps its own global rankings on the flight service (online matches). This board is the site-wide one: Scores are reported by the browser that played the battle, like every board on this site — a bit of fun rather than a competitive ladder.

Skybound — frequently asked questions
What is Skybound?
A free 3D wingsuit flying game in your browser. You jump from a transport aircraft over one of seven open worlds — the Maldives, the Swiss Alps, canyon country, a Pacific wilderness, Norwegian fjords, a volcanic archipelago and a desert erg — and fly: dive for speed, fold your wings, boost, land where you like. Four modes: Free Roam, Battle Royale, Expedition and the arcade Gate Run.
What is Gate Run?
A score attack. Twenty-four rings run down a course; you start with 40 seconds and every ring you pass buys more time — a clean pass 3.2 s, a tight one 4.2 s, dead centre 5.2 s, banked time capped at 60 s. Tight passes build a combo up to 8×, a miss resets it, and finishing banks whatever clock is left. Tightness is judged in the ring's plane, so scraping the inside of the hoop does not count as a clean pass.
What are the controls?
Mouse steers, W/S climb and dive, A/D turn, F folds the wings, Shift boosts, Space shoots, V changes camera and the wheel sets speed. J jumps from the aircraft. On the map, M opens the travel map, E finds supplies at outposts and H heals. The in-game guide (the ? button) has the full list.
What are the four modes?
Free Roam: no route, no timer — fly, land and explore. Battle Royale: 100 pilots, a shrinking safe zone, last one flying wins. Expedition: cross the world outpost by outpost, finding supplies and managing suit integrity. Gate Run: the ring-race score attack.
Are the other pilots real?
Quick play fills the sky with AI pilots so a match starts at once. Online matches put real players in the same room with bots filling the empty seats, and only online matches earn coins and count for the global rankings.
What are coins and the Hangar?
Online matches earn coins, spent in the Hangar on equipment. Rankings and coins are saved to your account on the flight service; quick play is offline and keeps nothing.
How does speed work?
Everything reads off your true airspeed: the wind streaks, the widening field of view, camera shake and the rush of the ground are driven by how fast you are actually moving, so a dive reads as a dive and a stall as a stall. Fold your wings (F) to drop like a stone; open them to glide.
Does it work on a phone?
The game is built for keyboard and mouse. It runs in a phone browser but flying with touch is awkward; a laptop or desktop is the way to play it.
It says the flight service is unavailable.
That message means the online service cannot be reached for the moment. Quick play still works in every mode — you just will not earn coins or appear on the global rankings until the service is back.
